Reading Across Curriculum

Our school cultivates students' systematic and diverse reading habits through various reading activities, including regular and irregular reading events. Below is an overview of the regular activities:

1. CPSS Reading Reward Program*
This program encourages students to engage in simple reading sharing to earn special, grand, medium, and minor prizes. For example, sharing 6 Chinese readings and 3 English readings can earn a $100 gift voucher, books, or a coffee mug, among other rewards. The forms of sharing include:
   - Reading reports
   - Book purchase proposals
   - Bookmark designs
   - Questions about the books
   - Video sharing

2. Library Café
To create a comfortable reading and learning environment, we will continue to hold the Library Café event every Friday during lunch break (1:30 PM - 2:00 PM). Students who borrow a certain number of books can get a cup of coffee, hot tea, or other beverages, immersing themselves in the fragrance of books and coffee while enjoying learning with their classmates and friends.

3. Library Borrowing Competition
The library borrowing competition is divided into two categories: class and individual. For the class division, the top three classes that borrow the most books each term will have each student receive a beautiful gift. For the individual division, the top seven students who borrow the most physical books and the top three students who borrow the most e-books will each receive a $50 gift voucher. The class and student with the highest cumulative borrowings throughout the year will also receive a grand prize at the end of the year.
